Programmable ignition for RD/RZ500

It is designed to work with original Yamaha flywheel generator, pickups and HT coil. Everything is connected to original wiring.
Ignition system contain three units:
- VCDI-04 (processing unit for advance/retard timing)
- Analogue CDI-RD500 with PV-out (for driving HT coils)
- handheld programmer
Two options are available: one or two VCDI units can be used. Using two VCDI units enable programming different timing for front and rear cylinders.
CDI-RD500 is double CDI unit with two inputs and two outputs. Each channel drive each HT coil independently.

Circuit is protected against reverse supply voltage (wrong connection).

- theoretical maximum revs at 20000RPM (tested with pulse generator and oscilloscope)
- timing calculation for every 1RPM change (1000, 1001, 1002, .. .., 9805, 9806, ...)
